“Walk It Out” and “2 Step” became international phenomenons that rocked the hip-hop, R&B, and rap charts for multiple weeks. Unk’s debut album Beat’n Down Yo Block! sold more than two-hundred thousand copies and soared to number 21 on Billboard’s top R&B albums of 2006.
In 2000 Big Oomp signed Unk to his label, Big Oomp Records.
After meeting DJ Jelly and DJ Montay Unk joined their entourage, the Southern Style DJs, and performed for high school parties, proms, pep rallies, and other events around the state of Georgia. Anthony “DJ Unk” Platt, whose worldwide success includes smash hits like “Walk It Out” and “2 Step”, is an Atlanta native who began spinning records in 1998 at the age of seventeen.
